Functional Medicine

Functional medicine takes a patient-centered approach, which seeks to identify and address the root causes of diseases, instead of just treating symptoms.

The ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates, who is considered the Father of Western Medicine, taught us that “It is more important what sort of person has the disease than to know what sort of disease the person has.” The true healing occurs only if the real cause is addressed.

There are many factors, such as genetics, diet and lifestyle, environmental toxicity, and emotional/psychosocial trauma that may contribute to a disease, and each person may react differently to those factors. With my patients, I look to identify the triggers that have created nutritional, physiological, and biochemical imbalances that lead to a pathology.

I see patients of all ages with a variety of health conditions. Below is a list of the most common conditions that I treat:
